Orion is proud to announce the Junior League of Memphis as the November focus of our “Orion Gives Back” program.
For over 90 years, Junior League of Memphis has made an impact on the women, children and critical needs in our community through hands-on training, mentoring and volunteering. The sheer number of community projects the Junior League of Memphis has been involved in over the years totals in the hundreds. They support a variety of needs, primarily those that benefit women and children.
For The Junior League of Memphis (JLM) is a group of women focused on creating stronger communities by developing the potential of its membership through training, mentoring and volunteering. The JLM exists to empower and train women to volunteer and lead their community toward positive change.
For The JLM is 1600 strong, and stands as the largest volunteer organization in the Mid-South. The JLM is a catalyst for change as they work with nonprofit agencies to supplement their work, providing the hands and hearts to directly deliver social services through voluntarism. They create long term partnerships and develop new nonprofits and programs that change the face of the Mid-South. The JLM also takes community project applications, develop them to reach shared goals and breathe life into ideas.
Without their volunteers, many nonprofits would be unable to try innovative pilot programs because of inability to staff or fund them. Since inception in 1922, the JLM membership has raised and given over $13 million back to the community. To learn more, please visit www.JLmemphis.org.
