Orion Teacher of the Month

The Orion Teacher of the Month Award is our way of honoring exemplary teachers at our adopted school, Kate Bond Elementary, and saying “thank you” for all their hard work.

February’s award winner is Almanda Jacox.

Ms. Jacox is recognized among her colleagues as a positive and encouraging leader.  They particularly admire her talent for motivating students:  “She has a unique way of tapping in to her students’ abilities.  She makes learning come to life by using project-based and hands-on activities in the classroom.  She instills a love of learning in all the children in her care.”

Ms. Jacox is also tireless in her efforts to involve her students’ parents, providing them with  tools they can use at home to help their children grow.

My favorite things about teaching is the satisfaction that I get from knowing that I help lay the educational foundation for my students, and that my teachings will hopefully lead to not only future educational successes, but life successes.

Favorite quote:

I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.
