Thank You, CLC!

The Collierville Literacy Council is proof that good things come in small packages.  Manned primarily by part-time volunteers, this modest organization has been making a BIG  difference in the Mid-South for nearly 30 years.  We were proud to lend them our support earlier this year through Orion Gives Back – and this month they returned the favor by making a donation to our Grizzlies Prep Book Drive.  Thoughtfully choosing a 20-book mix of classic and contemporary fiction and non-fiction from their collection, the Collierville Literacy Council has made a gift that the Griz Prep kids will surely love.  Thank you to Executive Director Kelly Thieme and her entire team!

Collierville Literacy Council (CLC) was founded in 1987 by a group of volunteers who saw the need for an Adult Basic Education / Literacy Program.  Over time they expanded their offerings to include HiSET diploma preparation assistance and English as a Learned Language assistance.  Their trained tutors now help over 700 students a year, teaching reading, writing, math and problem-solving skills.  To learn more, visit www.colliervilleliteracy.org.
