Want some insight into what makes her tick?  Here’s a quick question & answer session with our girl:

What’s your business philosophy?
Always be flexible.  When changes happens, be willing to go with the change.  If the change doesn’t work, have a solution instead of just pushing back.

What’s the best way to keep a competitive edge?
The willingness to learn something new. I have a degree in Finance but this industry is ever-changing.  I am always ensuring I’m aware of new laws and regulations. I read the newspaper, finance magazines, and go to the library to do research.

What’s your yardstick of success?
Happiness on the job is important to me  – so if there’s something I want to change, I make the change happen. Striving for more is also important.  If there is a new role or position available, I equip myself so I can take on the new challenge. I want to be the best of the best. I don’t want to be the smartest person in the room and if I am, I strive to find another room with greater people.

The best business decision you ever made?
Coming to Orion. Orion appreciated my skillset and expertise, inviting me to put my hands to a lot of projects. They value me as a teammate more than any other place I’ve worked.

The toughest business decision you ever made?
Deciding to leave a company I had been with for five years and had built a strong rapport with.  But my toughest decision ended up being my best decision.

Most recent book you’ve read?
“Their Eyes Were Watching God” by Z.N. Hurston and “Before I Go To Sleep” by S. J. Watson.

Favorite place to volunteer?
Ronald McDonald House of Memphis

Favorite Orion memory?
Taking a picture with our CFO, Jason Lee, so everyone could see how short I really am and how tall he really is!
