School Library Month is coming up! Want to help us celebrate?
We’re lending a hand this month to Grizzlies Prep Academy. Their librarian let us know their school library is lacking in quality reading material for several age groups, so we’re hosting a bookdrive to help. We’ll be collecting new or gently used hardcover books for their 2nd, 3rd and 8th grade reading levels.
If you would like to help, drop off your donations at any Orion branch, now through April 15th.
Not sure what to get? Here’s a suggested shopping list from the school:
2nd and 3rd grade:
• Eerie Elementary Series – by Jack Chabert & Sam Ricks
• Middle School Series – by James Patterson
• I Funny Series – by James Patterson & Chris Grabenstein
• Weird But True Series – by National Geographic Kids
8th grade and above:
• Modern classics
• Popular history books
Grizzlies Prep believes independent reading is an important step on the path to increased academic success. To learn more about this philosophy, read the article The Impact of Choice Reading by James Aycock, the school’s Director of Scholar Support.
